A joined bid from Amberside Advisors, Steer India and M&C Saatchi has recently resulted in appointment as a supplier on International Working DPS (Dynamic Purchasing System) run by Energy Systems Catapult.
With the framework designed to initially deliver energy projects in India, it is anticipated that this opportunity might provide us with access to subsequent markets, supporting Energy Systems Catapult in their future pipeline of work around energy transition globally.
The winning team
Demonstrating collective experience in the region and expertise in energy transition helped us secure a place on the framework. The team led by Mark Easter, showcased their creds in the relevant areas:
Steer India contributed with their knowledge of local market and experience coming from supporting the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office) around partnership development.
Amberside Advisors covered the financial scope of the framework requirements around funding, sponsorship, and investment.
M&C Saatchi has demonstrated relevant experience working with multi-laterals and non-profits on climate and energy related issues at both global level and within India. They have been responsible for media and communications as well as stakeholder management.
About the INW DPS framework
Part of a world-leading network of innovation centres, Energy Systems Catapult was set up to accelerate the transformation of the UK’s energy system and ensure UK businesses and consumers capture the opportunities of clean growth.
ESC have decided to set up a DPS framework for working internationally to accelerate energy systems around the world, starting with the Indian market.
The DPS is intended to provide a centralised platform to enable ESCs reach to expand and to be able to procure services for projects based outside of the UK. The duration of the DPS will be 5 years, having commenced on 30th June 2023 with the option for ESC to extend for a further period of up to a further 5 years.
Currently the ESC is working in India on a range of activities, to showcase UK clean energy innovation and expertise, with the main focus on the Innovating for Transport and Energy Systems (ITES) initiative. ITES is a collaboration between leading research organisations from India and the UK to address the obstacles to action on decarbonising transport and energy systems. In addition to ITES, it is expected that ESC will do additional projects on energy systems in India and eventually in other markets.
Summary
This bid serves as a great example of successful collaboration within Steer, capturing synergy from leveraging our international offices and cross-country capabilities, and also connecting with reputable external partners like M&C Saatchi.
We hope to see lots of interesting projects coming through the DPS, that will allow us to demonstrate our local transport infrastructure investment and planning, EV transition investment and stakeholder engagement capabilities of the India Steer office as well as financial and commercial advisory, and energy sector expertise from Amberside Advisors.
