We are pleased to announce that Amberside Advisors Ltd has been appointed to the Local Energy Consultancy Services Framework on two lots, Financial & Commercial Support and Multi-disciplinary, along with our industry colleagues.
The framework has been established within the Greater London Authority’s Local Energy Accelerator (LEA) Programme, which is backed by the European Regional Development Fund. It will provide £6m to increase the local provision of low carbon and renewable energy capacity through ultra-low carbon heat and power projects. The programme will make a significant contribution to the Mayor of London’s 2030 target of meeting 15% of London’s energy consumption from clean, renewable, decentralised energy, as well as helping to develop integrated, clean, smart energy systems that use local and renewable energy resources.
Amberside’s appointment comes after successfully working on the North London Heat & Power Project (NLHPP) for the North London Waste Authority since 2018, and will see our newly formed Commercial Advisory practice area deliver expert advice through the Framework in order to support both public (including the GLA Group, local authorities, NHS trusts, housing associations and educational institutions) and private sector organisations, develop, commission, and procure Locally Distributed Energy (LDE) schemes that deliver significant CO2 reduction at competitive prices.
Moreover, the Framework can be used beyond the LEA Programme as the GLA is keen to support a wide range of public sector organisations, within and beyond London, in accessing expert advice and support as the demand for local provision of low/zero carbon and flexible energy network increases.
Mark Easter, Head of Commercial Advisory for Amberside Advisors said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to the Local Energy Consultancy Services Framework and are keen to continue our work in helping London achieve its net zero goals. We believe that our offerings uniquely meet the demand of the market and are pleased that the framework will also be accessed by other public sector bodies beyond the GLA boundary.”
