Amberside celebrates another successful year

October marked the end of another successful financial year at Amberside, which saw us completing our most exciting developments and projects to date.

The appointment of the Mark Easter to head up our brand new commercial advisory team in March was the start of series of exciting additions to the Amberside team, including several new joiners to our successful graduate scheme, along with the strengthening of our HR and management teams.

In July, we announced our partnership with global management consultancy, Steer. Amberside joined Steer to enhance their financial advisory services and to add sector specialism advice in the renewable energy, transport and infrastructure sectors. Being part of the Steer group has also increased the reach of the Amberside team, and we now advise on various international projects delivered through 22 offices across four continents.

As always, we have been engaged with hundreds of mandates across a wide variety of sectors and sub-sectors, from student accommodation to street lighting, from district heating to data centres. Some of our key sectors this year have been:

  • Heat Networks – In March, it was confirmed that Amberside would form part of the delivery partner consortium for the newly established Green Heat Network Fund, following on from our work of previous BEIS projects, Heat Network Investment Project and the BEIS Heat Investment Vehicle.

  • Energy from Waste – Throughout the year, Amberside have continued our ongoing support of the North London Waste Authority. In January, we assisted in the awarding of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to Acciona for the new Energy Recovery Facility at Edmonton.

  • Anaerobic Digestion – Amberside have been working on a number of mandates in this sector, supporting in the development of acquisition and operational models. Most notably in September, supporting Bio Capital in their acquisition of the Corbiere Renewables plant.

Looking back on the year as whole, Neil Rutledge, Director at Amberside Advisors, commented: “It has been a year of progress and change for Amberside Advisors, something we are looking to carry forward into the next 12 months. Our partnership with Steer will open up a multitude of new opportunities for the business as a whole and for the team collectively, and we anticipate another year of development and growth in 2023”.
